SunPayus takes 6th place in list of best players of 2023

Spanish AWPer Álvaro "SunPayus" García is ranked sixth in the top 20 players of 2023 according to the reputable portal HLTV.org. This is the first top 20 finish in the career of the 25-year-old esports athlete.

Garcia spent most of 2023 with ENCE, winning IEM Dallas 2023, as well as reaching the finals of IEM Cologne 2023 and Gamers8 2023 with the roster. At the same time, the Spaniard was crowned the MVP for his performance in Dallas.

As noted by HLTV.org editors, SunPayus landed in the sixth place due to his high numbers in several stats. The Spaniard is fifth by the number of clutches won (53) and rating in big matches (1.17). Moreover, the sniper secured three Exceptional Valuable Player (EVP) awards.

HLTV.org will publish the top 20 players of 2023 every day from December 27 to January 13, 2024. The winner of the 5th place will be announced tomorrow, January 11, at 20:00 CET.
